Some satirical narrative devices in Sinxo's works

Abstract

An attempt is being made to highlight G.B. Sinxo's satiric devices which he so skilfully uses to embellish his narrative art. The identification and assessment of these devices are a means whereby effects are created and vision focused to show how the satirist approaches his satiric themes. Furthermore, they give a synopsis of the kind or form of scale by which a satirist of Sinxo's calibre, whose writings are flavoured with a strong Horatian spice, displays his humour. The technique of reduction and magnification is easily discernible as Sinxo's greatest device to generate visibility.
