Nepotism, corruption and discrimination: a predicament for a post‐apartheid South African public service

Pages 55-73 | Published online: 24 Feb 2007

ABSTRACT

Nepotism, corruption and discrimination occur all over the world. South Africa is no exception. The topic is one of major concern, especially in view of the impending constitutional changes in South Africa. The author sketches the nature of these phenomena and discusses various counteractive measures. There is no simple solution. The author, however, suggests that the issues should be brought out into the open, and that the authorities should face the problems and devise remedial steps.
