ABSTRACT
The article offers a descriptive analysis of the four most prominent transnational party political movements or so‐called “internationals”. It further offers a systematic analysis of the ideological origin, decision‐making structures, transformation and political impact of the four “internationals”. A number of conclusions are drawn in the final section on their political impact, cohesion, ideological dynamism, decision‐making structures and levels of integration.
