Abstract
Early developments in organotransition metal chemistry included the synthesis and reactions of hydrido and alkyl derivatives. The insertion of unsaturated reagents into M-C or M-H bonds was shown to be facilein many cases [Eqs. (1) and (2)1, and the reaction mechanisms were determined1–3.
