The great transition: Logic and speculation beyond experience

Abstract

This discussion complements an earlier introduction to an imminent and major transition in human development. An historical model then suggested that the change we face will be of kind rather than degree. Here the advanced power of our minds is taken into account and seen to transcend the approaching limits to scientific observation, the transition therefore leading us into realms of concern far beyond the limits of perception. We are rapidly increasing our ability to explore these distant realms, and an hypothesis is offered which not only provides answers to many of the classical questions of existence, although not explanations; it also suggests how this critical transition may transform the future prospects and fulfillment of mankind.
