Summary
The author describes an extensive project undertaken at Levanger College of Education since 1976.
The project grew out of a concern about the conflicts which arose annually when gypsy groups passed through Levanger. A group of students carried out extensive research into the situation and background of the gypsies and presented their findings at a cultural evening. This presentation began a process of change in attitudes towards the gypsies, and the project was extended. Later, it involved students in work at the Gypsy School in Oslo and with the production of teaching materials. These have been added to constantly and have been widely disseminated. The project continues, and has been extensively reported.

Le projet est parti des conflits qui se faisaient jour tous les ans, quand des groupes de gitans traversaient Levanger. Un groupe d'étudiants a recherché de façon très sérieuse les origines et la situation des gitans et a présenté les résultats de la recherche lors d'une soirée culturelle.
Cette présentation a donné naissance à un changement de disposition à l'égard des gitans et on a prolongé le projet. Plus tard, ce projet a engagé les étudiants dans un travail à l'école des gitans d'Oslo ainsi que dans la réalisation de matériel d'enseignement. Ce matériel a augmenté constamment et est diffusé largement. Le projet continue et a été relaté fréquemment.
