The Observing and Analysing of Lessons by Prospective Teachers in the Soviet Union

Staff at the Herzen Pedagogic Institute in Leningrad have developed methods for the observing and analysing of lessons by prospective teachers during teacher‐practice. These methods are here described and evaluated against the background of the Anthology of observation instruments by Simon & Boyer, and the more recent survey of observation systems by Veenman.

The latest methods for the observing and analysing of lessons are, at least partly, based on the results of the study into the functions of teachers which was carried out in Leningrad under the supervision of A. I. Scerbakov. Data concerning this study are to be found in "The Functions of the Teacher in the Soviet Union” (Treffers, 1985).

Les professeurs à l'Institut Herzen Pedagogie à Leningrad ont développé des méthodes pour l'observation et l'analyse des leçons des futurs enseignants en situation pratique. Ces méthodes sont décrites et évaluées ici sur le fond de l'Anthologie des instruments d'observation par Simon et Boyer, et au sondage plus récent des systèmes d'observation par Veenman.

Les dernières méthodes pour l'observation et l'analyse de leçons sont, en partie du moins, basées sur les résultats de l'étude sur les fonctions d'enseignants, ce qui était enterprise à Leningrad sous la surveillance de A.
