Following initial publication, queries were raised regarding the absence of the following citation within the manuscript:

Aydogan, E. K. and Ozmen, M., 2017. The stochastıc vikor method and its use in reverse logistic option selection problem. RAIRO-OPERATIONS RESEARCH, 51(2), 375-389. doi:10.1051/ro/2016027.

Due to download permission issues and the authors’ failure to conduct an adequate search for applications of the SMAA theory outside the field of hydrology and water resources, the citation was inadvertently omitted. The origin and first application of the SMAA-VIKOR method belong to this citation.

The following corrections have therefore been made:

(1) The citation has been added to the reference list.

(2) Statements regarding the novelty of the SMAA-VIKOR method in the manuscript have been revised.

The authors apologise for the error.
