Modifying Aggressive Behaviour: A Case Study of a Four Year Old in a Nursery School

Summary

The case study covers the use of various be‐haviourally based procedures for modifying the behaviour of a nursery aged child referred to Walsall school psychological service for aggressive behaviour.

Over the course of 12 weeks fights decreased from an estimated average of 15‐20 a week to one a week.

The results are discussed in terms of the importance of instruction in and setting the occasion for appropriate behaviour in addition to the use of contingency management.
