Issues in sex education for people with learning disabilities in the United Kingdom

Abstract

This article explores the assumptions made about the sexuality of individuals with learning disabilities. The place, context, content and methodology of sex education for this population in the United Kingdom is examined in detail. Examples of work with the parents of both children and adults with learning disabilities are given.
