Abstract
A convenient method for preparing of 3,6-dihydroxy-2,7,10,11-tetrapentyloxytriphenylene was developed recently. The synthesis started from 4,4’-dihydroxybiphenyl and 3,6-dihydroxy-2,7,10,11-tetrapentyloxytriphenylene was synthesised in five mild reaction steps. In this method, very high temperature and rigorous processing conditions of Ullmann coupling in conventional methods can be avoided. Total reaction yield in our newly developed approach reached up to 24.7%, which is twice than that obtained in earlier reports.
