Memories of George W. Gray

Abstract

George Gray was an inspirational lecturer and as an undergraduate in Chemistry at the University of Hull I was certainly inspired by him. As important he introduced me to the fascinating world of liquid crystals; here I give a personal description of some of the ways in which, over the years, George continued to be a major influence in my life.
