Gellisse Bagnall

This paper by Geliisse Bagnall of the Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Edinburgh reports on the findings of a survey of health care staff who play a significant role in the provision of professional development training. The purpose of the survey was to clarify, amongst this target group of employers/managers, perceptions of the potential role for continuing professional education by distance learning. The paper concludes with a brief description of how the results of this survey, along with those from the parallel survey of potential students, have helped to guide the development of a distance learning module in health promotion for post‐graduate level professional development.
