Abstract

A uterine stump granuloma was surgically removed from a sterilized bitch. Histopathology and fungal culture revealed Madurella mycetomatis eumycetoma. Infection may have occurred through a caesarian wound dehiscence. Long-term fluconazole therapy was instituted but failed to arrest and eliminate the infection.
