Abstract

Three new species of small diatoms are described from the Equatorial Pacific: Nitzschia johnmartinii, N. concordia and N. reimeri. The first two taxa were identified from rough cultures of Equatorial Pacific water enriched with iron, whereas the third species was identified from these same rough cultures and other localities along the 140° W meridian.
