Abstract

Eunotia densistriata, a subaerial moss diatom, from Itapuã State Park, southern Brazil, is described for the first time. This species has dense transapical striae on the valve face and a rimoportula at each pole of the valve. It is a typical acidobiontic species. The detailed morphology and structure of this species are examined using scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
