Abstract
A distinctive species of Hantzschia has been found on several occasions on intertidal sand on the Island of Amrum, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, over an interval of several years. It has not been observed in large numbers, cannot be found in other gatherings in the different collections at Bremerhaven and appears not to have been described elsewhere. It is therefore described here as new. Distinctive features include protracted apices, sharply angled to the apical axis and extremely fine markings.
