This article explores future innovations that will make possible an expanded role for reading educators. The overview presents ways reading professionals might enhance their chances at gaining alternative employment. The authors cite six specific job categories where employment growth potential is favorable for the decades ahead. Primary responsibilities for corporate training positions are examined to determine how Reading Specialists can fulfill job descriptions. In order to view reading careers in a futuristic manner, reading educators can and must expand their roles for populations and clientele other than the ones traditionally served.
