ABSTRACT
First reports of the freshwater jellyfish, Craspedacusta sowerbyi, from Maritime Canada, including the most northeasterly North American occurrence to date, are documented. Reports for Canada, the first dating from 1934, are reviewed, including a significant number of recent unpublished reports from Ontario and Quebec. This compilation shows that C. sowerbyi, apparently a non-native species in North America, is more widespread in southeastern Canada than previous literature indicates.
