Postscript: planning urban geographies and the contested rationalities of city-making

Pages 239-242 | Received 09 Feb 2016, Accepted 13 Apr 2016, Published online: 14 Jul 2016

ABSTRACT

Urban space is produced through material enactments performed by situated actors whose practices follow a determinative logic – a rationality – that links specific means to specific ends. The three papers in this special issue explore the divergent, contested, contingent, and relational character of rationalities through which urban geographies are produced on the ground.
