ABSTRACT
A new species of the entoptychine geomyid Pleurolicus, P. exiguus, is named from the early Miocene of Nebraska. It differs from all other species of the genus by its smaller size and distinctive cusps on the metalophid of the lower premolar. The cusps of the metalophid of the lower premolar become increasingly distinct in the Great Plains species of Pleurolicus ranging from early Arikareean to early Hemingfordian time.
