Kieran Lyons is a Ph.D. candidate in English at Louisiana State University. His areas of interest include the environmental humanities, postcolonialism, and comparative studies of the global tropics and subtropics. His dissertation, Invading Species: The Aesthetics of Vermin in Contemporary Literature, analyzes representations of pest animals in recent Anglophone literature.
