Abstract
This paper focuses on the occurrence of trichloroethylene, perchloroethylene and trichloroben‐zenes in the raw water of the Llobregat river (NE of Spain), in the vicinity of the Abrera Water Treatment Plant. Data of the systematic control during the years 1992/93, and an intensive survey of the river quality in the studied area performed in June 1994 have been employed. These data enable us to obtain valuable knowledge about the origin, presence and evolution of such products in the Llobregat river, and provide information that has never been reported previously for any Spanish surface water resource.
