An annotated bibliography of non‐fictional books and curricular materials to encourage gifted females

Abstract

Gifted females face a wide range of problems, including the lack of inclusion of women's accomplishments in literature, textbooks and curricular materials. This bibliography contains selected references that have been used as textbooks in mini‐courses, as enrichment exposure activities, as both role models and mentors in print and as a starting point for ordering texts and other non‐stereotypic resources for bright youngsters. The bibliography is divided into the following sections: art, awareness, biography, careers, curricular materials, history, invention, literature and math. Also included is a section of titles recently out‐of‐print, but available in libraries.
