Distinguishing between Two Aerosol Size Distributions

Abstract

A technique is presented to quantitatively determine the similarity or dissimilarity between aerosol size distributions measured with cascade impactors. The method is useful regardless of the mass loading as long as an accurate size distribution can be obtained from the data. The technique uses lognormal best fits of the data and an augmented Student's t-test to quantitatively determine the difference between the two particle size distributions.
