Abstract
Serving the handicapped in rural America is directly affected by factors such as geographical and social isolation as well as cultural and ethnic diversity. How to meet the needs of these individuals is a challenge. The urban models of human service delivery do not readily transfer to the rural environment. Thus, this article discusses some innovative methods of serving the rural handicapped population.
