Abstract

On the lateral cervical spine radiographs of a 60-year-old woman complaining of neck pain, diffuse hyperostosis or calcification was present anterior to the anterior arch of the atlas. CT of atlas revealed it to be bipartite and the hyperostosis to be due to hypertrophy of its anterior arch. We report this as a new sign associated with a bipartite atlas.
