Jennifer Nias

Team-teaching is rather like wife-swapping : it appears to be a common practice until you attempt to document examples. Often it is discussed in rather value-laden terms:- it breaks down isolation, it is an exciting, cooperative venture, it provides access to a richer range of experience. As an outside observer Jennifer Nias describes six ‘team-teaching’ situations. Her descriptions highlight certain features, but in doing so she is inevitably making judgements as to what features are significant. You may not share her judgments (whether implicit or explicit) but you need to make a stand with regard to team-teaching in your own school situation.
