Notes on contributors

Norman Booth

Norman Booth was formerly HMI staff inspector for science but has long had an interest in science education for younger pupils. Here he revisits one of the earliest and least known projects concerned with primary science — a project which interestingly concentrated more on content (in terms of ‘main ideas’) than on processes. Is this a more feasible approach than the more open-ended, investigational approaches associated with Science 5–13 and Nuffield Junior Science?
