Social situation of development: parents perspectives on infants-toddlers' concept formation in science

Sikder, S. (2015). Social situation of development: Parents perspectives on infants-toddlers’ concept formation in science. Early Child Development and Care, 185(10), 1658–1677. doi:10.1080/03004430.2015.1018241

The author would like to clarify that in the article ‘Social situation of development: parents perspectives on infants-toddlers’ concept formation in science’ published in the journal Early Child Development and Care, 185 (10), pp 1658-1677, one focus family (Aarjaw family) has withdrawn from the study. Therefore, the number of participants should be three, not four, and the total hours of video data 30 hours (instead of 51) and parental interviews: three hours of video-audio data (instead of four) have been collected over one year (instead of two) in the whole paper. The details data of the Aarjaw family and Alam's interview (father of Aarjaw) have been withdrawn throughout the paper and the analysis reported refers to the residual sample of families. Please note that no conceptual change or content change of any significance has been made.

The author has also removed citation of Sikder, S., & Fleer, M. (in press b). Incremental science learning in toddler's play. International Journal of Science Education. doi:10.1080/21548455.2015.1020457
