Biology of the Trigonalyidae (Hymenoptera), with notes on the vespine parasitoid Bareogonalos canadensis

Pages 209-214 | Received 17 Aug 1990, Accepted 28 Mar 1991, Published online: 22 Nov 2013

Abstract

The biology of the Trigonalyidae (Hymenoptera) is reviewed, with emphasis on adult behaviour. New observations on the vespine parasitoid Bareogonalos canadensis (Harrington) are presented, including oviposition behaviour in Douglas-fir foliage and overwintering in the egg stage. Potential use of Bareogonalos spp. in biological control of vespines is discussed.
