Abstract
Latania scale, (Hemiberlesia lataniae (Signoret)), is now established in the North Island of New Zealand. The significance of this pest and methods of distinguishing latania scale from greedy scale (Hemiberlesia rapax (Comstock)) and oleander scale (Aspidiotus nerii Bouché) are discussed.
