Personality profiles of Belfast children: Perceptions by American host mothers

Pages 355-357 | Published online: 13 Nov 2012

Abstract

An exploratory study examined the impressions made by 32 Protestant and Catholic ten- and eleven-year-old children from Belfast on American women who served as host mothers during a six -week summer cohabitation experience. Each host mother completed the Irish Personality Differential for each ofthe two children who had been in her temporary care. Significant differences attributable to the children's religious affiliation were found for relatively few characteristics.
