Abstract
This paper describes the University of Canterbury Antipodes Island Expedition of 28 January to 10 March 1969, which was the first lengthy scientific expedition to the island. Earlier visits to the island are mentioned, and the operation of the camp is discussed. The report describes climatic conditions and the physiography and geology of the area. Research programmes for Antipodes (and Campbell) Islands were concerned with botany, marine and land invertebrates, birds, mammals, and evidences of human habitation. An extensive bibliography and a map of Antipodes Island are included.
