Abstract
There's a story about a vicar who, on the eve of retiring, was asked by a parishioner what he planned to do now. Oh—at last I'll have the chance to finish that book. “I didn't know you were writing a book.” No—the one I was reading.'
Here I am, in the AHPP ‘Retired’ category, on the shelf, enjoying a diet of novels, with the help of four local libraries. Not the Eng. Lit. novels I studied and lectured on 30 years ago before becoming a therapist, but ones written since then by contemporary authors. I'm gradually catching up: finding many fascinating and absorbing works.
