This article refers to:
Violence as development: land expropriation and China's urbanization

Sargeson, S. 2013. Violence as development: land expropriation and China's urbanization. Journal of Peasant Studies, 40(06), pp. 1063-1085.

http://dx.doi.org/10.1080/03066150.2013.865603

When the above article was first published, a number of errors appeared, as follows:

  • p. 1074, paragraph 1 – the word ‘that’ appears twice in the first sentence

  • p. 1074 - line 22 - a full point appears erroneously after ‘expropriation duties’.

  • p. 1074 – the heading ‘Violence as development’ has been set as a b heading in italics. It should appear in bold - ‘Violence as development’ - to denote that it is a section heading.

  • p. 1075 - line 32 – there should be a close quotation mark after ‘China’.

  • p. 1079 – line 25 – ‘residents who are’ should read ‘residents were’

Taylor & Francis apologises for these errors.
