Sumit Guha is at the University of Texas at Austin. He retains very fond memories of his time with Jim Scott and other colleagues when Fellow in the Agrarian Studies Program at Yale, 1993–1994. His book Environment and Ethnicity in India, 1200–1991 (1999) emerged from that period of learning and research. His next book, History and Collective Memory in South Asia, 1200–2000 will be published by the University of Washington Press in 2019.
