Summary
An outbreak of mycotic encephalitis caused by a fungus resembling Dactylaria gallopava was encountered in two flocks of broilers that were placed on bark litter. The fungus was isolated from the brains and lungs of affected birds and also from the litter. The condition was reproduced experimentally.

Un foyer d'encéphalite mycotique provoqué par un champignon ressemblant à Dactylaria gallopava a été observé dans deux troupeaux de poulets de chair élevés sur une litière d'écorce. Le champignon a été isolé à partir du cerveau et des poumons des oiseaux atteints, ainsi que de la litière. L'affection a été reproduite expérimentalement.
Zusammenfassung
In zwei Broilerherden, die auf Baumrindeneinstreu liefen, wurde der Ausbruch einer mykotischen Encephalitis, die durch einen Dactylaria gallopava‐ähnlichen Pilz verursacht wurde, beobachtet. Der Pilz wurde aus Gehirnen und Lungen der befallenen Tiere und aus der Einstreu isoliert. Die Krankheit konnte experimentell reproduziert werden.
