Haematozoa of raptors and other birds from Britain, Spain and the United Arab emirates

Summary

In Britain, 20.3% of raptors examined were infected with haematozoa and in Spain 14.2%. Of the birds from the United Arab Emirates 24.1% were found to be infected. Haemoproteus tinnunculi, H. nisi, Leucocytozoon toddi, L. ziemanni and Trypanosoma avium were identified from raptors and H. telfordi from a Houbara Bustard.

En Grande Bretagne, 20,3% des rapaces examinés étaient infectés par des hématozoaires et en Espagne, 14,2%. Parmi les oiseaux étudiés dans les Emirats Arabes Unis, 24,1% ont été trouvés infectés. Haemoproteus tinnunculi, H. nisi, Leucocytozoon toddi, L. ziemanni et Trypanosoma avium ont été identifiés à partir de rapaces et H. telfordi à partir d'une outarde Houbara.

In Großbritannien waren 20,3% und in Spanien 14,2% der untersuchten Raubvögel mit Haematozoen behaftet. 24,1% der Vögel aus den Vereinigten Emiraten erwiesen sich als infiziert.
