Rana Dajani

Rana Dajani (Ph.D., molecular cell biology) is Associate Professor, Hashemite University, Jordan. She has been a Fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study (Harvard), an Eisenhower Fellow, a Fulbright Scholar, visiting scholar at Yale and Cambridge and has given lectures at McGill and MIT. In Jordan she has worked on the genetics of Circassian and Chechen populations and established stem cell research ethics law. She is an advocate for biological evolution and Islam. At Yale she is a Jordan team leader in studying refugee youth and the epigenetics of trauma across generations, active in higher education reforms. She is a member of United Nations' Jordanian Women's Advisory Council. She co-organized the first gender summit for the Arab world in 2017 and in 2015 was ranked 12th among 100 most influential Arab women and inducted into Women in Science Hall of Fame. In 2009 she received King Hussein Cancer Center & Biotechnology Institute award.
