Abstract
By acylation of thioamides in a two phase system liquid–solid with acetone-NaOH the hitherto unknown S-acylderivatives of the thioamides are obtained which may be regarded as Carboxylic acid-imidic acid-thioanhydrides. Some compounds of the new class can be rearranged to the more stable N-acylthioamides. By a cross experiment, the rearrangement is shown to be intramolecular; this implies that a reaction is only possible if the Carboxylic acid-imidic acid-thioanhydride can attend the E-configuration. The course of the rearrangement can be observed by 1H-NMR spectroscopy. The S-acyl and N-acyl compounds are clearly discriminated by IR and 13C-NMR spectroscopy.
