Abstract
An efficient and general preparation of S-(alkoxycarbonyl)-O-alkyldithiocarbonates is described. The method is based on the reaction of potassium O-alkylmonothiocarbonates with O-alkylchlorothiocarbonates in acetone-water (9:1) at 0°C. The yields are 91–100%.
