Abstract

The Z-isomer of Ar[sbnd]P[dbnd]CH[sbnd]P(O'Bu) Ar (Ar=2.4.6-tBu3C6H2) is formed from the E-1.3 diphos-phaallylchloride Ar[sbnd]P[dbnd]CH[sbnd]P(Cl) Ar and KOt Bu at low temperature via a SN2′ allyl rearrangement and transformed to the E-isomer thermally.
