Ship productivity as a measure of maritime performance

Pages 183-186 | Published online: 29 Jul 2006

Abstract

Ship and fleet productivity have been discussed increasingly as performance measures in recent years, but productivity has not been defined precisely as it relates to the maritime industry. This article offers definitions from some key terms that can clarify the concept of productivity and thus make it more usable as an analytical tool for steamship management.
