Optimization of bi-directional digital filtering for drift suppression in electrocardiogram signals

Abstract

Baseline drift may often impede automatic ECG measurement and interpretation. Known methods for drift suppression do not take into consideration specific waveform parameters of various ECG signals. We propose high-pass filtering with adaptable cut-off frequency in order to keep RS amplitude changes below a selectable threshold and to preserve ST segment shape within acceptable limits.
