Pages 311-316 | Received 23 Jun 1980, Published online: 27 Nov 2008

Abstract

Thin sections of Acanthohalysites sp. and Syringopora sp. labelled as collected by the Shackleton Expedition from the Cloudmaker Moraine, Beardmore Glacier, Antarctica, indicate that fossiliferous marine Silurian occurs in Antarctica. Hitherto, no faunas of Ordovician or Silurian age have been recorded from that continent.
