Abstract
To what extent does a specific chronic disease such as asthma which often commences in childhood, influence the education, training and eventual employment of those suffering from it? Is the asthmatic placed at a disadvantage both in obtaining employment matching his abilities and also in maintaining his job, superannuation and other entitlements throughout his working life? Is there a need for a special advisory centre other than existing employment offices to assist asthmatics with their problems?
