Values and Professional Social Work: A Field Study

Abstract

The field study reported in this article focuses on the value component of social work practice and represents one section of a much broader study of social work professionalization. Professionalization is a complex process which is inextricably linked to the cultural norms, social structures, political form, stage of economic development, and stage of technological development of the society in which it takes place.
