Values and Professional Social Work: Some Comments on the Literature

Abstract

Social workers have a moral and professional responsibility to be able to state publicly their bases for professional action. The deliberate selection of values is becoming an increasingly important issue in most forms of interpersonal and organizational behaviour. In view of this, it is essential that social workers be aware of the critical nature of values in social work practice.
