Realities and Variables in Social Work Practice Research

Pages 25-31 | Published online: 15 Apr 2008

Abstract

Reality as a phenomenon in social work practice and research is considered in terms of the particular paradigm used and the conceptual points of reference within that paradigm. A widening of our frames of reference to include more variables is needed, as well as new ways of examining the inter-relationship between variables. Different ways of construing reality by the perceptions of other than just the practitioner and research are considered.
